Meet the artist…

For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed drawing, painting and creating. Dance was very important to me in my high school and early college years, but I then decided a degree in Nursing was a good choice for me. After graduating from the University of Texas Health Science Center with a Baccalaureate Degree I started working at Jefferson Davis Hospital, in Houston, Texas in the Labor and Delivery Ward. I then married the love of my life; Scott and we have 4 beautiful children.  With my husband’s work we traveled all over the world and I started collecting art whenever I could. We lived in China, Indonesia and the Middle East and we visited many more countries.

In 2017, my husband retired, so we sold our house in Conroe, Texas, and purchased 53 acres in a little town called Buffalo, Texas with a population of less than 2000. We built a barndominium, and we live here with our 2 cats, 6 dogs, 2 horses and 30 chickens. Often my kids and their children come up to Buffalo for a visit, and that, is what I call heaven.

A few years ago, my best friend Kim, said let’s take an art class, just for fun. We took a few lessons, watched many a YouTube video, and we have not looked back. Rene Wiley and Erin Hanson are two of my favorite artists. I love their impressionistic use of thick strokes of paint and vibrant color.

When I paint, I try to capture the beauty that God has placed all around us. My favorite subjects are landscapes, seascapes and still life. I am still learning and growing as an artist, and I hope that others will enjoy my paintings too.
